This transmission is announcing a special music event in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, August 16th, the "Dream Concert" - Pittsburgh's First Festival of Sleep hosted by Life In Balance.
Opening the show will be Slow Poke, electronic based Appalachian band "Where Rustica meets Electronica", films by Frank Ferraro will be shown between the bands. This is an ALL AGE Event starting at 8:00pm.

The Dream Concert, Pittsburgh's First Festival of Sleep celebrates the latest Life In Balance CD with The Relaxation Company/Ellipsis Arts, New York The Relaxation Company
The new CD "Crystal Bowl Meditation" is out now. The new CD is best described as "Floating electronic dream textures drifting through a quartz crystal landscape." The first part of the evening will be Slow Poke (Jan Hamilton on Fiddle, Paul Ferraro, Guitars, and Steve Sciulli on Synthesizers and flutes) playing World Ambient and Cyber Tribal music followed by a short film. Next Life In Balance takes the stage, let the deep healing sleep begin. Show time is from 8pm till about 2am.
Life In Balance says: It's been about a year since we've last performed in Pittsburgh so to mark the return to our home region we are facilitating “The Dream Concert, Pittsburgh's First Festival of Sleep.” We have been talking about doing this for many years and it's a rare opportunity to experience a sustained state of heightened intuition in a public place. Pretty cool. The Festival of Sleep is an actual concert where morphing into a deep Theta sleep state is highly encouraged. Bring your favorite blanket and pillow, Pajamas are encouraged. Reviews of the New Life In Balance CD "Crystal Bowl Meditation - A vibratory Journey into Deep Meditative States"
On "Crystal Bowl Meditation," Life In Balance returns to its roots: glimmering, sparkling crystal bowls and other percussion dance around Steve Sciulli's (often multitracked) flutes and synthesizers creating some of the purest and most beautiful ambient music extant. On "CBM," though, Steve adds just enough piano and electronics to recall the "ambient-chamber" sound of artists like Tim Story and Eno, and adds a new timbre to the sound palette of Life In Balance. This is the kind of music for which the "repeat" mode of your CD player was created. Some may listen to the music in conjunction with meditation or yoga, while others will play "CBM" and let the music find its own space. Either way, "CBM" sounds like another instant classic from Steve and Ami Sciulli, the Synthesizer, flute and percussion duo fortuitously titled Life in Balance.

On August 16th, we will experience a lunar eclipse and full moon. During this time, we will have the opportunity to experience and examine our shadow selves, what is inside of us, what our fears are, and we may feel and emptiness and rather spooky energy. It may feel that the light is temporarily gone and that we are only connected to a strange and dark space. We may not want to be alone then, and thus crave the companionship and connections to others.

We have a self released CD called "Soundhealer". This is the closest that we have come to capturing a live sound healing meditation on disc. "Soundhealer" includes the spoken DNA activation meditation that is used during our live sessions. "Soundhealer" is currently available only in a limited run and won't be sold in retail stores. Our "Star" CD is global in its reach. This is music for active listening, for dancing and driving. "Star" is the "out-breath" with "Soundhealer" and "Live" as the "in-breath". To order "Star" through CD Baby click HERE.
